· Your membership makes UOCA a stronger advocacy group. Your support and presence strengthens our ability to seek change on behalf of the Chinese American and Asian Pacific American community.

· Your membership sends a clear message to future generations, our youth, that we must all be vigilant in obtaining and protecting our civil rights. We teach a vital lesson about leadership by our actions, not just our words.

· And finally, your membership in UOCA tells our political leaders that we, as Chinese Americans and Asian Pacific Americans are ready and able to be full, contributing, and participating members of the greater American community.

· Operates as a charitable organization, promoting social welfare projects, which serve and educate the Asian Pacific community on social and political issues in a nonpartisan manner.

· Works on programs that promote, preserve and protect the civil and human rights of individuals and groups through litigation, education and advocacy.

· Encourages, promotes and assists Chinese and Asian Pacific American groups in ethnic and mainstream civic and community affairs.

· Participates in local and national efforts to secure justice, equal treatment and opportunity for Chinese and Asian Pacific Americans.

· As part of its charter, UOCA also engages in educational programs to eliminate ignorance about and bigotry against Chinese and Asian Pacific Americans.
