UOCA members gather donations to provide meals to the homeless, women and
family shelters, Domestic Violence shelters and local boys and girls clubs.

- Asian Heritage Month
-
May is Asian Heritage Month. During May, the nation
commemorates the contributions of Asian Americans have made to this nation
and celebrates the many Asian cultures and heritages. UOCA celebrates
the month by working with area libraries to highlight relevant literature on
the Asian American experience. We also work with the National Park
Service in commemorating the completion of the Transcontinental Railroad at
the Golden Spike National Historic Site at Promontory Point, Utah. We
have worked with the Japanese American Citizens League in remembering the
unjust internment of Japanese Americans at the Topaz Detention Center near
Delta, Utah during World War Two.
